Come Abide. Come Create. Come Be Renewed.

what is
the abide Retreat?

the abide retreat is:

- A two-day gathering designed for Christian creative entrepreneurs who want their work and business to be rooted in Christ.

- This isn’t a typical photography workshop.

- We aren’t here to chase algorithms, trends, or hustle culture.

- Instead, we’re creating space to slow down, listen to the Lord, and reconnect with the reason He placed creativity in our hands in the first place.

Through conversation, prayer, and hands-on creative sessions, we’ll explore what it looks like to truly abide in Christ while building and stewarding a creative business.

who is
it for?

This retreat is designed for Christian creatives who:

• Want God to be the CEO of their business

• Feel called to use creativity for Kingdom impact

• Are tired of hustle culture and comparison

• Want to build a business rooted in purpose and obedience

• Are photographers or visual creatives wanting deeper meaning in their work

• Desire community with other believers in the creative industry

Whether you're just starting your creative journey or have been in the industry for years, this retreat is about coming back to the Source.

This retreat begins from one simple posture: abiding in Christ.

One of the most powerful parts of gathering with other believers in the creative industry is realizing you’re not walking this journey alone.
This retreat creates space for meaningful conversations, encouragement, prayer, and connection with other creatives who desire to build their businesses with Kingdom values at the center.
Because sometimes what we need most isn’t another strategy… It’s community and alignment.

What It Looks Like to Abide, Create, and Gather

what we'll experience

Our Hearts behind this retreat

In a creative industry that often pushes constant growth, comparison, and performance, it’s easy to forget why we started creating in the first place.

We have both felt the Lord stirring the same thing in our hearts for a really long time:

To create a space where Christian creatives could pause, breathe, and return to the foundation.

A space where creativity is no longer about striving for validation, but about stewarding the gifts God has entrusted to us.

The Abide Retreat was created to remind us that our creativity was never meant to exist apart from the Creator.

John 15:5 reminds us:
"Apart from me you can do nothing."

When we abide in Him, our creativity becomes something far more meaningful than content or marketing. It becomes worship.

Daylinn Brooks is an Oregon-based brand photographer, creative director, and storyteller with over 15 years of experience as a creative and photographer and 10 years as a creative entrepreneur. Over the years, her work has evolved from lifestyle and family storytelling into brand storytelling, all rooted in the same belief that meaningful imagery should reflect real people, real connection, and the stories God is writing in everyday moments.

Through her work with brands and creative entrepreneurs, Daylinn helps people tell meaningful stories and build businesses that reflect purpose, legacy, and the people behind the work. As the founder of Brookside Creative House, she focuses on purpose-driven storytelling and creating imagery that feels honest, cinematic, and deeply human.

Daylinn co-created this retreat because she knows how easy it is for creatives to get caught in comparison, pressure, and hustle—and how important it is to step away, reconnect with the Lord, and remember why we started creating in the first place.

Nikki O’Hair is an Oregon-based wedding photographer, storyteller, educator and faith-driven creative who believes photography is about more than beautiful images—it’s a way to serve people, honor their stories, and reflect God’s goodness in everyday moments.

She is passionate about helping women use their creative gifts to serve others and glorify God while building meaningful businesses rooted in faith. Through storytelling, mentorship, and community, Nikki encourages photographers to stay connected to their purpose behind the lens.

She co-created this retreat to give Christian women photographers a space for rest, renewal, and to grow both creatively and spiritually.

And if you’re wondering what Nikki and Daylinn have in common… they’re both moms of four, love Jesus deeply, and are completely obsessed with s’mores.

What makes this different?

Why this retreat is different:

This isn’t about building a bigger following.
It’s about building a deeper foundation.

At the Abide Retreat, the focus isn’t just creativity — it’s alignment.
Alignment with your calling.
Alignment with your purpose.
Alignment with the Lord.

When creativity flows from that place, everything changes.

If you’ve been feeling the Lord nudging you to slow down, realign, and reconnect with your creativity, this retreat was created for you.

This retreat is not structured as a traditional photography workshop.
However, there will naturally be space for conversation, encouragement, and shared wisdom among women who are navigating both faith and creativity. Additionally, each attendee will get a 30 minute 1-on-1 with both Nikki and Daylinn.

will there be teaching or education?

Neither.
While there will be intentional photography opportunities, this retreat is primarily focused on rest, spiritual encouragement,
and creative connection.
Think of it as a space to step away from the noise of business and rediscover the joy and purpose behind your creativity.

is this a workshop or styled shoot?

Not at all.
This retreat is open to all experience levels. While there will be opportunities to photograph beautiful moments throughout the retreat, the heart of this experience is spiritual renewal, community, and creativity rather than technical education.
Whether photography is your full-time career, a growing business, or simply something you love, you are welcome here.
